Can You Really Slay a Giant If You Are Afraid of a Rabbit? Part 1

"You cannot kill giants while running from rabbits. You cannot scale mountains while hiding in caves. You cannot take territory if you give away your inheritance. And, you cannot cast out of the atmosphere what resides in your heart."

~Michael Dalton, Yes Ministries International

This is truth! While Jesus has given us the authority to cut the heads off of serpents, many in the church today are running in fear from rabbits. Mountains stand between the Church and freedom while she’s seems to shiver in fear. I’ve seen a consistent turn within the Church towards disbelief, safety, and finally complacency. This is exactly what happened in the Church of Laodicea. The charge that Jesus has against the Laodiceans according to Revelation 2:4 is that they left their first love, Him. They laid aside their vigor, zeal and dedication for the Savior, who is the first love of the Church, for without Jesus, what’s the purpose of the church? It becomes nothing more than an affordable country club. The Laodiceans set down their zeal for Christ and when they did, they became paralyzed and complacent and the trek to fear is just a few short steps away.

In an age of entertainment gospel or religion, we can see the ease of complacency. We sit back in the pew, watch the show on the stage with beautiful lights and smoke effects and get mesmerized into thinking we are worshipping the One True God, when in fact, our eyes are taken off of Christ and put onto the performance. We’ve adopted a false god. We’ve now stepped into idolatry. Worship is not participating in a show. It’s much more than that. Worship is total dedication to the Savior, His teaching and being obedient to Him, whatever the cost. It has nothing to do with religion or creed. Worship happens in the heart long before you enter the sanctuary, which leads me to the quote above.

Without true worship, you will never be able to overpower the enemy. Giants are indeed in the land. They’ve always been here. But until we realize that we need to enter into a private place of worship, one on one with the Creator of the universe, we will neither recognize nor conquer the giants. In Matthew17:20, Jesus says, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move.Nothing will be impossible for you.”Look at The Passion Translation of this verse.

“I promise you, if you have faith inside of you no bigger than the size of a small mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move away from here and go over there,’ and you will see it move There is nothing you couldn’t do!”

Another promise:

“Now you understand that I have imparted to you all my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will be able to harm you as you walk in this authority.” Luke 10:19-20
